First topic message reminder :

It was the day before classes started and the day after he had first arrived at Hogwarts. Lien didn't get a very good night's sleep, but he suspected there were others that hadn't either: there was a lot of wind that night, and up in the Ravenclaw tower it sounded horrific. Now he was browsing over his new timetable and eating some plain porridge, looking like he was being swallowed up by his two-sizes-too-big second-hand robes.

He hadn't spoken much to the other boys in his dormitory. Most of them had been quite shy, and Lien wasn't complaining. He was slightly wary of them - Parkinson, Nott, Macmillan - all pureblood names, all exceedingly wealthy. They probably would start picking on him for being the odd one out, despite the Nott boy crying into his pillow at three o'clock in the morning. He probably didn't realise that he'd overheard that.

"You have?"

Oh right, isn't he that guy she's dating? He'd forgotten who he was, but that was because he didn't want to see his sister sucking face or doing cute coupley things.

Suddenly, the fabric felt much comfier. Hyacinth gave him a sheepish smile. "Thank you, Indigo handed it down to me..." He didn't have a style, but he knew it wasn't this.

"Alayna..."

He felt the corners of his eyes start to sting, but there were too many people around to let them go. Part of him wanted to get out of the Great Hall and go somewhere private with Alayna, so they could cry together and hug each other. But what if someone like Rowle came in and saw them?

He squeezed her hand.

"So, erm. What lessons do we have together?" he asked her, trying to prompt a swift subject change. He took out his timetable and put it next to the salt.

Ptolemy and Hector re-entered the Great Hall with their hair slightly damp, but they looked free from gravy and porridge at least. They were both discussing something in an undertone, and Ptolemy was shaking his head at what Hector had said. Hector looked annoyed at his answer.

Passing Alayna and Atticus, Ptolemy smirked at her.

The two boys sat nearby the Riddle twins instead.

"What are you two giggling about?" Ptolemy asked, smiling at Medea.

"We're looking at him..."

Her eyes were still glued to Louis Weasley.

@Ptolemy Rowle

"Oh... I'm not sure it's the right fit for you. Maybe Amaryllis and I could get you something from Hogsmeade..."

There was something incredibly wrong about Indigo's clothes being on this boy. It just didn't look right. He needed a looser fit, or something.

"Sorry. You probably want to re-join your friends," he said, smiling at him. Why would he want to talk to the older boys when he had friendships to form in his own peer group?

Hector followed her line of sight.

"Isn't that another Weasley?"

He sighed.

"Did we miss him tripping onto his face or something?" he asked, snorting. What else would they be laughing at if it wasn't a Weasley making a complete prat of himself?

"Do you not see just how hot he is?!"

He could be on the cover of Witch Weekly!

Matilda giggled.

"No... we're looking at him because he's cute!"

"No, it's all right. I'll see if my dormmates have anything more comfortable."

Maybe Chang would with how huge his robe was.

"Thanks for the, urm, help."

Hyacinth swiftly returned to the Ravenclaw table and reclaimed his seat beside Chang.

"You have got to be joking..."

Hogwarts really was a mess! He wanted to write to his Mother and demand he went to another wizarding school instead. Beauxbatons. They didn't have this sort of riff raff!

She opened up one of her twin's hands and began putting her fingers down one by one.

"He loves me. He loves me not..."

Ptolemy laughed between them. All of their expressions were ridiculous.

"Perhaps if you start fussing over us, he'll get jealous."

He'd heard Memphis say that before in jest, and he always wanted to appear older than he actually was.

Hector visibly cringed. The Riddle twins were ghastly, and Ptolemy was being ghastly as well. He huffed.

Alayna looked up at Atticus and smiled a bit. She looked at his time table and compared it to her own, "We've got potions transfiguration and charms together. That's quite a bit of twin time." She said before seeing Ptolemy Rowle looking at her. She raised an eyebrow and stuck her tongue out at him. He was such a pompous git, yet she has butterflies as she looked at him.

"He loves me, he loves you not," she said to Medea triumphantly, then lowered her hand to a dramatic gasp.

"Yes, let's fuss, let's fuss!"

She started touching Burke's hair.

"Ooh your hair is so... wet. Why is it wet?" she asked, giggling. "Look Medea, he's just like me!" She was pulling Burke's hair off into bunches.

"Gasp!"

Noooo! This was the end of the world! Various giggles erupted from her as she got a glance of Louis once again before moving her attention to Hector.

She stroked his tie and felt a drop of water drip onto her hand. "Aw, did our Hector get caught in a corridor rain shower?"

"That's great! What a relief... I was worried we wouldn't see each other at all."

He smiled at her, then at Lien Chang and the other boy.

"I don't think I'll ask Father to move me to Slytherin... I want to stay here with them," he said quietly to her. "I think I'd be happy..."

"What do you think it takes to be Head Boy?" Lien asked Macmillan, wondering if he knew about these things.

He was happy to dig back into his breakfast and finish his eggy bread; he wanted those nasty snakes would leave his new friend be!

"My brother said they were chosen by the headmistress."

"Get off of me," he snarled, brushing their hands away and flushing in embarrassment. They were trying to make a mockery of him and he wouldn't stand for it!

Alayna frowned a bit when Atticus said he didn't want to switch houses, "You don't want to be in the same house as me? I plan to ask father to write to the headmistress." She did care for Atticus happiness, but she also selfishly wanted her brother with her.

Dominique was pleased with the way the sorting went. She was happy Louis was placed in Hufflepuff, he would do well there. After the sorting, she made her way over to her brothers table and smiled when she saw Vic was there as well, "Congratulations, Louis. You are going to be the perfect Hufflepuff." She then kissed both his cheeks and ruffles his hair

"I do want to be in the same house as you..." he said sadly, not knowing what else to say. He was torn between several different feelings: one where he pleased his Father and befriended people like Rowle and Burke, another where he was with Alayna, and the other, which was the strangest feeling, was staying in Ravenclaw house with the two boys. Lien, especially, was unlike anyone he'd ever spoken to before. He didn't want him to be sad just because his family didn't have a lot of money...

It was a whole new year and Amaryllis just couldn’t wait to see what the year would bring! And this would be the last year that she would have to cement her chances to become head girl next year. It was what she had always dreamt of! But there would be plenty of time to make sure that the headmistress made the right decision and gave her the position. She had no fear that the headmistress would know that she was the absolute best person for the job after all.

For now, she was just focused on reuniting with her friends and checking in with her brothers though. She walked in, the picture of poise as she walked across the polished floors and looked for those she sought out. Then she spotted Indigo and Memphis standing near the Ravenclaw table where her brother sat with his little dorm mates and some others. A big smile came to her lips as she approached Indigo and Memphis. She hugged her brother before moving forward to place a kiss on each of Memphis’ cheeks. ”Ill be right back, I’m going to go say hello to Hyacinth” she said, being ever polite as she excused herself to walk the couple steps to the Ravenclaw table.

”Hyacinth! I’m so proud of you. How are things?” she said as she squeezed him in a hug the best she could where he was sitting at the table and placed a kiss on his cheek. So what if he might be embarrassed! The thought never even crossed her mind.

Alayna pouted and crossed her arms, "Doesn't seem that way." Sure, she was being a selfish brat. But she was 11. She didn't care. She wanted to be with her brother. But she knew being upset would make Atticus feel guilty and sad, and she did not want that, "It'll be ok. We can have sleepovers all the time."
