With Emery and Louis both going to Ilvermorny for different reasons, Cherry was worried that being Head Girl was going to be even more stressful now with Louis away from Hogwarts. Then there was Hazel who was sister to one and girlfriend of the other. She didn't know how exactly Hazel was dealing with all of these changes, so she invited her to lunch so they could chat about it; they didn't spend as much time as they usually do during the past semester, so it was important that they made up for it. She found a booth within the pub for the two of them having made sure to find a place where the gossip rags were less likely to have someone spying.

Cherry drank some hot chocolate as she waited for her best friend.

Hazel felt like the entire world was going crazy since Emery and Louis had left to America, and she didn’t know how to take it, but she had actually been looking into following Louis, since they needed a place to finally go once they graduate.

She entered The Hopping Pot, and had been keeping her best composure. The engagement was finally called off so Hazel felt so much better. It was what’s getting her through these changes. “Hey beautiful. I just got some good news.” she said taking a seat in front of Hazel. “The engagement finally got called off,” She said trying to sound light-hearted.

Seeing her friend, Cherry smiled relieved that she had no issue finding the booth. Then again, she did choose a place that wasn't as busy as the Leaky Cauldron for a reason! Her eyes widened hearing the news. It wasn't already called off?! Hazel's mom always waited for the writing to be almost faded from the wall before doing something!

"That's so great to hear, Hazel!"

It was one less thing for her best friend to be stressed about after all.

Hazel was glad the engagement was finally called off since she was able to be with Louis for the rest of her life. “It sucks though he’s going to Ilvermorny.” she said giving Cherry a bit of a sigh. “I am debating going with him. We need to start looking for a place to live once we graduate.” she said with a bit of a shrug.

“Do you ever miss Ilvermorny?” she asked raising her eyebrow.

"I don't know why he decided to participate in the exchange program now instead of last year," she said before grabbing one of the candy canes that were given out for the holiday season to stir in her hot cocolate. "I told Jerome his best time for it is now in case he's Head Boy next year. They're really allowing Louis to go to Ilvermorny when he's Head Boy!"

She was going to be all alone, and somebody had to be in charge. Fuck.

Cherry's expression remained neutral as she listened to Hazel. "Do you think he's going to move to America when he has his internship and his entire family here?"

Why else would she want to tag along and find a place to live?

"Sometimes. I wonder how much it's changed since we attended."

Hazel knew it was the part of her who missed home coming out. She wanted to go back for years, and she had to agree with Cherry, “No he should have before we got into a relationship, and you make a good point, I just miss home.” she said as took a sip of hot chocolate. She missed being somewhere where Alayna and Carina ran the school, at least at home it was family who ran the school.

She nodded, “I do too, and I just don’t know what Louis wants to go. Do you think I’m wrong for wanting to follow him, but it’s always been my dream.” she sighed since it brought back a lot of good memories. She wasn’t locked in a dusty manor hearing her mother cry about not having any friends in the area.

While Cherry's concern was how being an exchange student would conflict with his Head Boy duties, Hazel's concern was their relationship. She doubted Louis would spend the entire remainder of the school year across the pond, but in a way, it showed how distanced their friendship became due to different priorities. Should she tell her about the incident with Rowle? Would it hurt to?

"You should do what makes you happy, but it's not like he's transferring there..."

If she goes, she'd become even more alone. Prefect wise, it'd mean all she had to talk to was Jerome, if he didn't follow through with also participating in the exchange program.

Hazel felt like this year had been a whirlwind and she was trying to hold on. She listened and to Cherry say do what makes her happy and she shrugged. “I don’t know what I want to do and I don’t know. I just feel like now that Louis is gone, it’s just gonna be us for a little bit.” she pointed out.

It was going to suck, “I want to go back home, but like you said If I’m going to marry Louis one day, we should be where he has his connections.” she said, she’d be wrong to make him leave it behind. “It’s just like life is starting to hit us.” she sighed.

Cherry really didn't know what to say to her friend; it was like all they ever talked about, whenever they did hang out, was Hazel's relationship with Louis. It made her feel so left out as she didn't have any major crush or anything to talk about. She supposed there was her budding friendship with Atticus, but she doubted Hazel would be as familiar with him due to different houses.

She took a sip of her now minty-tinged hot chocolate as Hazel continued on about her relationship. How could she really respond to that?

"How was it like spending time with them?"
