Higher than air (open)

Lukas stood by the wall, holding a clear cup in his hand that was filled with red liquid. He dipped it as he watched the other students mill about and look for their friends. As a prefect, he had to at least pretend to keep an eye on things. At least until the end of his watch then he could find Atticus. A smile spread across his face and he tossed the, now, empty cup in the trash can.

After having to check Alayna's outfit at least fifty times before she could descend the bloody staircase, Atticus was at the dance himself at long last. As soon as the wall of people and burst of conversation and music pierced through once the gym doors were open, his heart started hammering wildly against his chest.

He closed his eyes, and tried to breathe.

All he wanted to do was find Lukas - be distracted by him, enjoy himself. He skirted the edge of the dance and, at last, saw him. Grinning, he approached.

"Sorry I'm late. Fashion crisis. Well, not my fashion crisis, but I-think-you-know-a-certain-boy's-twin's fashion crisis." His eyes swept across him. "Looking sharp."

Lukas couldn't help but smile when he saw Atticus. He looked extremely handsome, "I assumed it was Alaynas crisis. Trust me, I was getting crystal messages of every single dress. I'm surprised you turned down the silver one. It looked nice." He said with a smirk, "But you look great."
