treasure hunting (open)

Wade always made his way across London alone on the morning of the first of September. His Mum shrieked that the school should pay for his train ticket: she begrudgingly paid for it every year just because it got him out of her crappy house. A few minutes into the ride on the Hogwarts Express, however, and he was starved. He supposed most competant parents would pack their children with snacks or lunches, and the trolley didn't come until gone midday. Frustrated at the gripe of his empty stomach, Wade pushed up from his seat and went roaming through the carriages.

He didn't really know what he was looking for. Someone he knew to mooch off of?

He got to a compartment which had nobody inside, but there was luggage on the seats. The luggage was open. There was clear evidence of snacks inside there. Wade looked up and down the train corridor briefly to see if the owner was returning, then darted inside the compartment. He grabbed some of the food and stuffed it inside of his pockets, unbothered by the idea of stealing. This person wouldn't miss it. They were careless enough to leave it behind.

It wasn't long on the train for Lazar to end up needing to use the restroom. Maybe he shouldn't have drank an entire bottle of orange juice from the restaurant he and his parents had a quick breakfast at... At least his snacks would tide him over for the remainder of the train ride. He wanted to save some stomach space for the night's feast.

Lazar was trekking back to his compartment only to shudder at the sight of MacKenna. The Gryffindor never failed to intimidate him. Then it hit him. His snacks were being burglarized!!!! Why couldn't this have happened to anyone else?

"Wh-what are you doing with my snacks..? If you wanted one, you could've asked..."

The funny thing was, even though he saw the owner had returned to the compartment, it didn't stop him from further theft. The action just became slower, more thoughtful, as though he was considering what was said. That guy always seemed a push over anyway.

"Why'd ya need so many?" he grunted, as though that was reason enough for stealing. "If I siddown 'ere and eat it with ya, then it's sharin'. Sharin' is carin', ain't it?"

He slung himself down into a seat and bit off the end of a chocolate wrapper, stuffing the whole thing into his mouth. While he chewed, he tested him with a surly look.

"F-food goes through my body quickly..." His mum said it was because he was a growing boy. Maybe he still had another growth spurt to go? His stance alternated between slight shakes and stiffening just at the prospect of dealing with MacKenna.

Reluctantly, Lazar nodded as he witnessed him casually ravaging through that chocolate bar. He was going to save it for later! "I-it is."

He didn't want any trouble to come to him.

He snorted.

“So that twat who clogged the crapper on the fourth floor - that was you?”

Wade laughed. He took going through his body quickly as a different meaning. He eyed him up and down.

“The heck is wrong with ya, anyway? Ya look like ya gonna shit yerself right here.”

"NO!"

He definitely wasn't the Toilet Clogger of Fourth Floor! Even if he was, he wouldn't admit to it! "I-I just have a fast appetite! I swear!"

Lazar looked at him and gulped. Did he really seem that pathetic? He could feel a drop of sweat run down his forehead.

"I-I didn't expect to be burglarized before getting to Hogwarts!"

Wade laughed.

“Yeah, yeah - careful. Don’t shit yaself.”

He tore off a wrapper and poured the contents into his mouth, crunched for a while, then glared at him.

“Oh ho. Does that mean ya gonna try ‘n do somethin’ about it then?” he challenged, smearing his hands down his jeans and standing up, squaring up to him. “C’mon then. What y’gonna do?!”

He furrowed his brows upset at what he was being accused of. "I'M NOT A PANTS SHITTER!!!!"

Why was his luck like this? It'd be unfortunate if anyone else was targeted, but why couldn't he have gone after somebody else instead? There had to be somebody else in this school who was punier and more pathetic than him.

"I-I'll call for a prefect!"

Lazar trembled as he reached through his pants to grab his crystal. He didn't have any of the prefects on his contact list, but he hoped the threat was enough to deter MacKenna.

He cringed at the slight ringing in his ears after he’d yelled that. Surely there were a few people at the back of the train that didn’t hear that. Well. This guy was a loser. Wade almost felt sorry for him. He put his hands inside of his pockets, creasing his brow.

“God. Ya such a wimp.” And that was why he wouldn’t hit anyone like him. It was just too easy. “Kinda pathetic too. Y’should probably work on that. It’s embarrassin’ even to look at ya.”

He slumped down inside of the seat again.

A wimp..? He's been referred to as dorky and geeky a lot since his first year. In fact, a lot of his peers had a hard time believing that he was, in fact, the biological son of Weird Sisters bassist Donaghan Tremlett.

It was somehow tougher hearing it from a bully. The kind of person Lazar would expect to be hurled such descriptors from. "S-sorry. I've always been a little sensitive..." His glasses began sliding off of his face. It was always annoying when that happened!

Taking a seat, he pushed up his glasses.

“The fuck you sayin’ sorry for?!”

Urgh!

He chucked a bag of sweets at him.

“Ya gotta take the bull by the horns or ya just gonna be walked all over for the rest of ya life...”

"Sorry for being a wimp..."

Lazar assumed that was obvious, but he figured bullies wouldn't be the most logical of people. He barely caught the bag of sweets having only been aware of it near-impact. He needed to work on his reflexes.

"How do you do that..?"

Wade shrugged.

“Stop givin’ so much of a shit about stuff?”

He scratched his nose and snorted up some phlegm from the back of his throat.

“The word ‘sorry’ shouldn’ even be part of ya vocab... er... fuck, I dunno, just let go n’ shit.”

Stop giving a shit about shit? Lazar shuddered. What kind of a person would he be if he tried to be so detached from everything?

"What do you do to apologize if you don't say sorry?"

He snorted.

"Why should ya?"
