which pet? (open)

Faye had never owned a pet before during her time at Hogwarts. When she lived in Ireland, on the farm (wince) they had lots of sheep dogs but they weren't necessarily owned by her. She was sure that her Dad was allergic to cats, but that was the only pet that really interested her. Either a cat or an owl, she supposed.

So she went inside the menagerie expecting there to be a lot of chaos, but it was a surprisingly clean place. There were owls and cats of every breed and colour, but she supposed she should choose one that actually took a liking to her? Who knows: she had no idea about this stuff.

Carina went into the pet store to get some food and some treats for Cas, her kitten. She walked towards the cat section and picked out a bag of food and some tuna flavored treats. she struggled to try and carry the bag of food as it was rather large and cursed under her breath when she dropped it

She was distracted by how utterly helpless this girl looked trying to lug several things around at once. Some people really spoilt their pets rotten, although she supposed she shouldn't be surprised. From the looks of this girl, she was sure that she was what's-her-name Malfoy. Spent a lot of time going about the school acting like she was God's gift to humanity...

"And... that was my foot." A bag of treats fell on her foot. It didn't hurt, but still. "Do you really need this much at one time?" She criticised, narrowing her eyes a little and picking up the treat bag.

Carina pushed a strand of hair out of her face and smiled weakly up at the girl as she picked up the treat bag "sorry. It got a bit heavy and lost my grip." She juggled the food bag and shrugged " it's better to have more than I need rather than less of what I need" she struggled a bit as she carried the stuff to the counter

Yeah... if you had the ways and the means of buying it. She didn't say that out loud. Malfoy was probably rolling in galleons, and didn't under the concept of being frugal. Still, she seemed oddly sweet when she was by herself and not surrounded by moronic fifth-year girls.

"What kind of cat do you have?" She asked, following her towards the counter. She wanted to head that way anyway... kind of.

"he's a domestic short hair. Not sure entirely what breed. But he's all black and such a tiny thing. He's only 6 months old. His name is Castiel. " She said smiling as she pulled out a small sack of money " do you have one? " She asked looking at the girl as she handed the cashier the amount for the food and treats

Faye wanted to say 'aww' but it was against her nature to do so. Well, maybe inside of her head she 'aww'ed. That was enough, right? Maybe she would get a cat after all. Cats could clean up after themselves, owls needed a lot of cleaning out of cages and such; also, she didn't fancy explaining the idea of an owl swooping in and out from her bedroom at home.

"I'm actually thinking of getting one," She said, "I've just never had a cat before. We had some--" She was about to say on the farm but stopped herself. She didn't want Carina Malfoy knowing her roots. "... when I was younger. They used to hunt and get their own food, though. I don't know, I just heard they were good for stress."

"you should totally get one!" Carina said turning to her with a smile "they're great. Castiel is always a great stress reliever. He sits on my chest and purrs when I'm sad. The other night I was really upset and he licked my tears away. " She said with a soft laugh before holding her hand out " I'm Carina, by the way, Carina Malfoy. I realized I never gave you my name."
