Curiouser and curiouser...(open)

Tatyana looked around at the other students at the Gryffindor table, most of whom were talking eagerly about such topics as how their summers went, what they did, how much they'd forgotten over the summer, and the like. It didn't take her long before she heard a couple of students mention their families, old, monied families, which caused her hackles to rise. Tatyana decided that it wasn't worth getting into an argument so early in the year, so she forced herself to think of other things.

Her parents. She knew she would have to owl her parents soon to tell them where she'd been Sorted. Her father would be thrilled that she'd gotten into Gryffindor, while her mother, she thought wryly, would worry that she'd turn out to be like her dad when he was at school. Tatyana smiled to herself. She could see herself getting into a few detentions during her time at Hogwarts, especially if she didn't keep a bridle on her tongue. Perhaps her mother was right to be worried.

Tatyana chuckled quietly. Her seven years at Hogwarts had just started. It looked like she would be in for an interesting seven years at Hogwarts. Now, she told herself, as she took a bite of apple pie, back to people watching.
