Health Class ((Years 5-7))

The Great Hall was arranged differently than usual for health class: the tables remained, except two were put away to leave plenty of empty floor space. Pulled in front of the high and staff tables was a large, extending portable chalkboard that already has his name written and illustrations of birds and bees drawn. Frederick was keeping his makeshift classroom practical and straight to the point; the kids were at Hogwarts to LEARN, not be swept up in the aesthetics of a room or anything flashy that'd distract from the valuable lessons he was about to teach.

As the fifth to seventh years filed into the Great Hall, Frederick waited for all of them to stay standing before instructing, "Okay, class, I am Professor Renshaw, and you WILL be learning the pleasures of life and what NOT to do. If you're a boy, sit at the left table. If you're a girl, sit at the right table. If you're something else, sit where you're comfortable or in the middle aisle. If you do that to fondle your partner, you WILL be separated through force and with a barrier until end of class. NOBODY in this class will have babies. If you already have a baby, my class will teach you how to NOT have another one."

He pursed his lips as he scanned all of the students.

"That being said, whether you abstain or choose to do the deed, my teachings will help you make smarter decisions. Once everyone's seated, the lesson will start."

Oh so it was that kind of 'health' class. Sex education. The Bert's bees. Or was it the Bert's and the bees? Who was Bert, anyway? Wade was sixteen years old and still thought the expression birds and the bees was Berts bees. That's why he laughed whenever he saw the lip balm in shops.

Anyway, more importantly...

He put up his hand, looking politely inquisitive.

"Question. If I ask my girlfriend to squeeze my balls to check for lumps, is that really sexual harassment when I'm just tryna get another opinion?" He tried not to crack a grin whilst gazing seriously at Renshaw.

Tiernan sat next to Wade in the 'boys section' and snorted loudly at what he said, now trying to pass it off as a cough.

Comarth took a seat shortly after hurling at the sight of MacKenna. Gripping the desk for support, he shook his head and turned to Melanthius so the mudblood was out of his line of sight.

"It's a statistical improbability that boys could ever have babies, so I'm fairly confident in passing that module," he informed his friend, but was more thinking about fondling in class. Was that something couples did too? Fondle in class? What constituted as fondling anyway?

Why was it all he could bloody think about now?!

After leaving her boyfriend and Selwyn, Bellona reluctantly went to sit with the other girls. She tried to stay close to Dahlia - Jeneva - whoever. It didn't matter. She was just extremely uncomfortable about the entire prospect of this class, especially in front of a middle-aged man and all the boys. Even talking about it amongst girls was difficult enough for her. Why couldn't they just be given a book or something, she thought in anguish, taking her seat.

"This is horrible..." she whispered, feeling the sudden urge to bury her head in Dahlia or Jeneva's shoulder for the entire class.

Jerome wanted to smack the back of MacKenna's head. At least he wasn't sitting next to him, but he was sitting near enough to be annoyed by it.

He was trying to look as calm, collected and as mature as he possibly could be. This definitely wasn't a problem for him - it was all perfectly normal, and really should have been something they'd learnt a lot earlier. He'd had some formal education on this whilst at Muggle school, around about the age of ten. After that, it was just a case of picking it up as you went along.

Layla uttered a small whimper. This man was scary! Was she going to get called on?!

Ahhh!

Thalia was sat with Marilyn and some of the other girls when she told them:

"I was going to start calling Tuesdays 'sexy Tuesdays', because I have Morais, Maddox and Selwyn right after each other. But now I have this class. So calling it 'sexy Tuesdays' just became extremely awkward..."

She sighed.

Although he was extremely disappointed to have to sit separately from his girlfriend in one of the two classes they actually had together, Thius was sort of grateful this class was actually happening. All of his knowledge was that this type of activity was primarily for procreation, so if he perhaps was able to find out if some of his thoughts were-

His head quickly snapped upon hearing Comarth's question. "What if you end up as a seahorse after going through the animagus process? Male seahorses get pregnant."

Jeneva's face was redder than usual from the embarrassment of having to sit through such a class. Why was it even more mandatory now? Urgh.

Buffing her nails, she turned to Bel, glad that she actually sat with her for the first time this entire term!

"Do you think he'll ask about our periods? Gross!"

Then she turned to Dahlia and smiled widely at her. "What if does ask about our cycles?!"

Health class? Why didn't they have this two years ago??? Marilyn loved her nephew being the adorable, cuddly little boy that he is, but her family could've avoided so much trouble last year!

She glanced over at the professor and her jaw dropped when it hit her that she recognized him.

"Thalia, I know who our professor is! I would see him as a team healer whenever my mum covered the Quidditch World Cup! He actually knows what he's talking about!"

"I did say improbable - not impossible. However, there is no feasible way that I will become something as gutless as a seahorse."

He looked beyond Melanthius, to where Dahlia was sitting.

"Fondling would be a way of getting through the more mundane of subjects..." he uttered suddenly, thinking about how Dahlia's skin might warm to his touch as her leg brushed against his under a table.

Siobhan walked into the class and took a seat next to Layla, as she would rather cut off her own leg than sit next to Grayson. She raised an eyebrow at the professors speech before looking at Wade as he spoke. She let out a laugh at his question and shook her head at him before facing foreward again.

Sakura sat down near Bel and her friends uncomfortably as she realized what the professor was talking about. Wasn't this a private matter? It was embarrassing to think about! Was this one of the longer or shorter classes?

"Hello, Bel," greeted Sakura with a smile. "Hello to you two too. Hogwarts is a very great school, I am happy to be here."

Savannah sat at the beacbeack of the class as she didnt really wish to be noticed. She didn't understand why they had to take this class with the boys. It was so awkward!

"I really hope not..." she managed to say, swallowing a dry throat as Jeneva was making everything a whole lot worse.

As soon as Sakura was there, a flicker of a smile came over her. Sakura was such a positive energy to have around at a time like this. As soon as she was sitting next to her, Bellona took her hand under the table and squeezed it, clinging on for dear life. Perhaps she just needed a few moments to collect herself, calm down, and she would be right again.

She just hoped no one noticed her discomfort or the fact she was clinging to Sakura.

"Just for now," she whispered to her.

"Do you know how much more torturous this class would be if my brother still attended? I think he'd refer to the material as being 'vulgar' and 'objectional'," Thius uttered, lightly tapping the under of the table repetitively.

And then being able to get peeks of his girlfriend from the other table, unable to hold her or anything to comfort her through the class... Yet, it might be a good thing. Thius would be unable to totally remove his hand from her. Plus they were surrounded by their peers. They had his dorm. They had privacy. They could talk about the class later and snog if they so desired...

"How can I hold my babe's hand from this side of the hall?"

Cassie st next to thalia and looked around the room. She wondered where lazar was. She looked at Thalia, "Where's Lazar?"

Mackenzie was sat in the center of the girls side trying to ignore the boys childish comments, "God they're bloody annoying." She said shaking her head. Her eyes fluttefluttered over to Tiernan and smirked at him.

"Do you still like him?" Layla asked Siobhan gently, noticing she was looking at Wade MacKenna. "Boys are strange, aren't they? But some of them are really nice... and really handsome..."

She bit her lip and blushed, glancing around the boy's side.

Abeline was sat next to Layla when Siobhan Finnigan suddenly sat next to them. She raised an eyebrow, a bit confused. She missed Pandora.

Siobhan looked at Layla before sighing, "Doesn't matter even if I did."  She looked back over to the boys and felt her eyes linger on wade as she replied to her, "Yeah. They are." She said as she blushed, "Yes. Really handsome."

"Arm extensions..." he murmured distractedly, and stupidly, still with his mind on one thing.

Walking towards Wade, Frederick hit his arm with a rolled up newspaper. The lesson didn't start, and he was already finding out who some of the problem students were. "You're capable of checking your own balls. That answer also applies to you girls wondering if your boyfriend should check your breasts for lumps. Any more questions before we start?"

He shook his head in frustration as he walked down the aisle until he found Comarth and Burke sitting together. "You must be Comarth of the Selwyns. A birdie told me that you're madly in lurve," he teased. From what he heard, that also applied to Burke, but from the sounds of it, he'd admit to it without a fight. That didn't make for entertainment.

"Sometimes I just feel tingly all over," she admitted in a sigh, and then looked rather flustered at having admitted so. "I mean - if that's normal. Is it normal? Feeling tingles when you look at boys?"
