• Tiernan is the son of Cormac McLaggen and Nardyne McLaggen (nee Oathwaite). Nardyne has two sisters: Clarice and Eluren. Clarice is Comarth Selwyn's mother, making them cousins, although they markedly avoid one another and deny having relation most of the time. Nardyne was cruelly exiled from her family when she was a teenager, after it became clear of her liberal views when it came to blood diversity.
  
• He has played for the Gryffindor quidditch team for three years now, in Chaser position.
  
• Although he hates it when people say he's similar to his Dad, he has inherited some of his attributes. He loves receiving attention and is quite arrogant, but he often gets offended when people view him merely as a meathead, or a 'fuckboy' (he especially hates this one), or a pretty boy. Sometimes he really does bring it upon himself, though: he's not exactly modest. But, unlike Cormac, he does have more of a conscience. He can easily get very carried away with compliments, praise and glory and his ego may be fragile, but ultimately he works at himself as a person and takes others' advice to heart.
