The Rowle Wedding (tagged, invite)

On the rolling grounds of the Rowle estate, a large marquee had been assembled to contain the wedding ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the reception. While the exterior had been decorated with elaborate garlands, water features and ribbon bunting, the interior was where everything came alive: large flower displays that touched the top of the canopy, ice sculptures, reupholstered seating, centre pieces, chandeliers; it was very clear that this couple was rich and they had no modesty about it.

The guests were already arriving for the ceremony, welcomed in with a live band playing tasteful, classical music. Ptolemy greeted each and every guest as they came through, shook hands, excelled in his pleasantries, smiled so much that his cheeks hurt. In just under an hour's time, Alayna and her bridesmaids would be ready. They were all currently inside the house doing finishing touches, he assumed. Ptolemy hadn't seen her since the night before.

"So lovely to see you, Mrs Selwyn. Mr Selwyn - a pleasure..."

As he gushed and fawned over the guests, his best man stood very stiffly next to him, murmuring at best. When Mr and Mrs Selwyn had passed through and there was a gap in the arrivals, Ptolemy turned to him in annoyance: "You could at least try to be less like a board, Burke," he hissed at him, out of the corner of his mouth. "People will think they're coming to a bloody funeral."

Smiling around, and for the camera Aqulia insisted they post for, Ptolemy chuckled lightly at her.

"Let's get out of here, then," he whispered naughtily to her. "We'll have a glass of champagne together outside the marquee and you can rest your feet for a moment, my darling. Then we will come back in once the elves have served the guests their drinks and canapés."

He kissed her, hand-in-hand, walking back down the aisle.

"Can you quite believe it, Alayna? You really are my wife now!"

Alayna smiled at him and nodded, ""Well, you can have champagne. I'll stick to water." She followed him down the aisle and shook her head, "It took you long enough." When they were out of view of everyone, she kicked her heels off and sighed in relief, "Those things are evil and I'm not putting them back on." She laughed a bit before kissinkissing him again, this time with more passion and love since they were alone.

Alighting the stage once the couple had exited for a moment, Hector took to the stage once more.

"Ladies and Gentleman - we have a brief moment before the couple rejoins us. For now, please enjoy the drinks and canapés being served before we are seated for the Wedding Breakfast. You may wander at your leisure for a time."

Amaryllis lifted one dainty hand to wipe a tear from her cheek as she listened to the heartfelt vows that the two exchanged. They were obviously so in love and it was just so beautiful to her. She was so happy for them. Then everyone was standing and cheering. She joined them before things quieted down and Hector announced that they could now move around freely. She moved from her seat once more, not sure where to go but knowing she would feel odd to be the only one to sit back in her seat instead of moving about and socializing before the meal was served.

Astrid stood there in her proper spot as everything began to commence. It was beautiful. Especially when she knew of the struggles that the two had gone through to get to this point. She had been there so many times to try to help them reconcile because she just knew they were perfect together and now it had really happened. She was so happy for her friends as she turned her head away slightly, hoping no one would see the stray tear that fell from her eye and tracked down her cheek. She was just so happy for them! She couldn’t become a blubbering mess, though. It would be entirely unbecoming.

Dahlia would rather be anywhere else than there right now… especially when the sappy stuff started and everyone around her started to tear up. What was the big deal? The two were wrapped up in the illusion of love. It probably wouldn’t last, love never really did since it wasn’t real… but she kept it all to herself as she just stared at the two with her normal look that said she wasn’t all that thrilled to be there. Why did her parents have to drag her along when she had so much to do? She stood and clapped half heartedly as everyone else cheered. At least it was over.

Canapes!!!!!

Looking at his Mother speaking with a few more of the adults, Comarth slowly and surely back down the row of chairs until he was free of their confinement. Then, spotting the nearest elf sporting a tray, he hounded on it.

"What are they?" he demanded, although he was already salivating.

"Marinated rare slices of beef on a twice-cooked doughnut disc with horseradish--"

"Give that here!" he snapped, snatching the entire platter out of the elf's hands. The elf looked scandalised and began to protest (politely). "I'll distribute these. Move along."

Grinning, he took his platter somewhere in a darkened part of the tent and began to shovel in the delicious food. It wasn't a priority that it tasted good, but it just happened to be tasty.

She had arrived to the manor after everyone had been seated in the marquee. Phaedra didn't want to disrupt the ceremony by being late! But she overheard the vows, all the lovey-doveyness and it make her tear up. Her own little sister, who she hardly knows, was now a married woman! A married woman about to be blessed with children of her own! Despite her sister's resistance to getting to know her, Phaedra was ecstatic. She wanted to be in her nieces' lives.

Now that everyone was free to walk freely, Phaedra entered the marquee with a gift bag in hand to give to the newlyweds; she couldn't find a registry anywhere, so she got them a cute photo album that they could fill with all of the memories they were going to be making. She glanced around at everybody who was inside and smiled.
