The air at Hogwarts had certainly changed since she had gone to Ilvermorny, but it felt amazing being back; it was like she was at home again. At first, it felt cool being across the pond as she could forge a new reputation and have the spotlight for once. Then some familiar faces came and she quickly felt homesick. She could've stayed for a bit longer, but she was ready to return to what was familiar. No more Siobhan was the greatest part of it. No longer would she have to go to bed every night wondering if she was going to inhale smoke or find her skin melted off or her hair singed. She can now sleep peacefully knowing she won't have to see that pyromaniac ever again!

After she got some of her stuff unpacked, Marilyn pulled out a couple bags of the gummy candies she brought back with her. A part of her was still in shock that Wade had something to show her. Was he thinking of her the entire time she was away? Wadeykins was still her Wadeykins! Yay! She rushed down to the common room holding onto the bags anxious for Wade to show up. Her mind was going crazy speculating on what it was he had to show her.

Wade trudged into the common room after being in Professor Riddle's office. He didn't look in the best of moods, but he rarely ever did. His surly expression was set as he pushed through some students to see if there was somewhere to sit. Marilyn was stood hovering around there by herself, and then he remembered that he was going to meet up with her anyway.

He walked up to her with his hands in his pockets.

"Just got a royal bollockin'. Over here."

He nodded his head as he turned to a seating area that was slightly away from everyone else, then collapsed onto a couch.

"Those snacks?"

Seeing Wade, Marilyn approached the seating area trying to act as natural as possible. She still couldn't believe that he wanted to see her so soon after returning! Squeee! She was going to have to tell Thalia about this next time they practiced some cheer moves!

It'd be weird if she sat beside him, so she chose one of the adjacent armchairs. That would do. She nodded as she held out the candy packets. "I got gummy bears and gummy worms!"

Which one was he going to take? Merlin, he wanted candy from her. He wanted candy from her! That was a step closer to first base!

He grinned.

"Bears. Loved those fuckers as a kid."

He took the packet and opened them, eating a few. They were better than the ones they sold at the corner shop back home - way better.

"So here's the thing," he said, eating some more before adding casually: "I'm tryna get expelled."

"What?"

Marilyn gave him a quizzical look.

"Why are you trying to do that?"

He shrugged at her, beheading a bear with his teeth.

"I dunno. Gettin' bored with this school now. And I was thinkin' - magic and stuff I ain't any good at anyway, so why don't I just fuck off this place and go back to bein' a muggle?"

He was full of stupid ideas, but this really took the biscuit.

"Everyone here's a simp or a bitch. It's pissin' me off."

"But you're the best quidditch player on the team!"

Well, what barely was a team now. Siobhan's transfer situation didn't hit her yet in the context of quidditch.

"Those kind of people exist in the muggle world too, Wade!"

She didn't want her Wadeykins to go!

"We only have two years left, why leave?"

"Teams shit though. There's a load of new people, and they got no idea what they're doin'."

He just shrugged at her again.

"Yeah, I know, but at least there's a load more shit to do than just a crappy village and a castle. I ain't gonna do any good anyway. Just don't see the point in a lot of it."

"You could still be scouted for one of the professional teams, Wade!"

Why would he throw that all away? Marilyn, a future product of nepotism, didn't understand why he'd think that way.

She frowned. Completing Hogwarts without her Wadeykins?! She didn't want that to happen! She couldn't let it happen!

"But people here would miss you!"

He seemed to be dismissing everything she was saying by making occasional grunts and 'tsh' 'pff' sorts of sounds, but he was frowning at the space beside her where the chair cushion joined the arm.

"Whatever. I tried out bein' a perv so they'd have another reason to kick me out. 'Cause beatin' people hasn't worked this whole time."

He chucked a gummy bear at the back of some guy's head, then sat back again.

"So this is what I was gonna show ya. I found photos of the Three Broomsticks in some book and I was gonna break in there and steal a load of booze." He wasn't the smartest.

'How long have you been trying to get kicked out?"

Was that why he always got so many detentions? Poor Wadeykins! Was there anything she could do to have him stay? They only had a few months until their OWLS!

Then he said that. "Wade, you don't want to end up in Azkaban!" she pleaded, grasping the arm of her chair.

Book? Booze? Photo? How did they come together?

He shrugged.

"Not long."

He stared at her for a while, considering what she said.

"Fuck. Didn't think of that. Or whatever wizard version of JDC is," he grumbled, "I dunno. Just don't give a shit anymore."

"Is there anything you've liked about Hogwarts and magic?"

There had to be something there she could use to convince him to stay!

"You should at least stick around for the OWLS... You only need them to get basic jobs here..."

"Yeah... Quidditch is pretty good. Or it was. I dunno."

He sighed, leaning on his palm and glancing off to one side with that same surly expression.

"Maybe. Why're ya tryna talk me outta it anyway?"

"You could be captain next term. I think you have a good shot at it!"

Why was she trying to talk him out of it? Other than not wanting to be without her Wadeykins.

"You know how I just came back from America? I thought things would be better there as I wasn't really enjoying the past few months at Hogwarts... I thought the grass was greener on the other side, but it wasn't. If you think some of our classmates are bad, you should see some of the people there!"

"Yeah, I get ya. Real talk."

He nodded in understanding. 

"They all a buncha wankers?" he asked, laughing.

"They are! One of the girls is always so grumpy, that Chase weirdo returned there, some guy went up to me saying a room was for hooking-up! They have tellys that play these bizarre videos..."

The Galleria was nice though, she wouldn't mind returning just to shop there.

"You can't get any better than Hogwarts!"

"Yeah, those Veela things shouldn' be allowed in school. Or they should all be forced to wear veils like hags."

He snorted.

"They got TV over there?! What the fuck!"

"I don't know why they allow veelas with high enough veela to attend. At least the Weasley veelas don't cause people to go insane!"

Marilyn really disliked veelas. All they ever cared about was getting around with their looks.

"They do! I thought they risked exposing magic, but there were tellys throughout Ilvermorny! I think I saw some at the Galleria too!"
