Slice and dice (Cherry)

First topic message reminder :

Atticus had always been fairly friendly with Cherry, but he couldn't say they'd ever spent a lot of time together before. Recently, however, they had formed a sort of connection. They had seen each other through the hospital wing following the aftermath of her Euphoria potion, and Atticus had suggested to her there (when their heads were clearer) that he could cook for her.

So, the next evening, he told her to stay away from the Great Hall and have dinner with him instead.

The elves had already cleared up and had were in their quarters now, so Atticus was happy to be slicing up ginger root without them buzzing around him. The smell of fresh ginger was one of his absolute favourites, but normally at Hogwarts it was used for sweets - not savoury dishes, which he was using it for.

He was smiling. He was happy. This was nice.

"Both? I know the Grindr gays can be very, um, shallow from the stuff Cernu has said..." Cherry couldn't help but wonder how lucky Cernu had gotten in his searches with how fem he was. "Maybe you're just an exception, I'm not sure..."

Smiling, she offered, "You can always go into the muggle world during break to see what happens. Cernu always takes us muggle-dwellers to some sort of gay club each break. You could tag along if you want?" Other than Cernu, Wade, or the other muggleborns, Cherry was probably one of the better options for a muggle world guide.

"I'd love to!"

Now he was excited. The muggle world was probably swamped with gay men, seeing as their populace was heavy anyway. He would have to be on his best behaviour though, trying to sound muggle as he went. It might not be too difficult, but there were a lot of things he definitely didn't know about: the internet had been briefly covered in muggle studies, but it was such a vast form of communication: Atticus could scarcely comprehend something like that.

"I guess I could talk about cooking... but what if they start asking me about those social group things? The internet ones?"

Perhaps she had some general advice for that?

The chicken went in the pan.

"Great! I'll have to get the date and time from Cernu once he had that figured out, but we always meet up in Diagon Alley! Makes it easier on those who don't live in the muggle world."

Plus it was just easier to be in a place everybody was familiar with. She sniffed the air pleased by all of the smells coming from the stove; this was going to be so delicious!

"Um, you can say you don't use social media..? You would be telling the truth!"

Crossing her legs, she asked, "Are you going to make anything else with it?"

"Oh... yeah. As long as they don't think I'm weird."

He just assumed everyone in the muggle world had those things.

"Then again, maybe that could be the thing that makes me attractive. I don't know..."

There was hope.

"I've got some naan bread that I made this morning, I just have to heat them up a little," he said, smiling. "This doesn't really take long to cook at all, really. Once you add the rice it all cooks down, then you just stir in spinach and it's done."

He looked at her whilst stirring continuously.

"So... are you more interested in having a romantic relationship, or are you more focused on having fun with different people at the moment?"

"I think a few will like that you're not glued to a phone! You won't know until you meet somebody!"

Besides the whole magic thing, maybe muggles would find the disconnect from most events to be refreshing. It was hard to avoid some things in the muggle world unless a deliberate effort was made.

Nodding, she replied, "Sounds and smells delicious. My family doesn't really have Indian food as other than the spice thing, they're not the most open-minded..."

There was so much of the world she needed to learn about!

"Um, mainly just having fun... If a relationship happens, I wouldn't fight it, but it's not what I'm looking for right now."
