In a veil of smoke (Ptolemy)

Alayna was furious. How dare that obese troglodyte report her to Riddle? Just who did she think she was? Alayna shouted the password to the portrait and slammed it shit behind her once she was inside. She saw a few people staring at her and glared at them, "Got a problem!?" To which they a quickly looked away. She walked to the couch and stared at two third years, "Off". When they ran off she sat on the couch and just leaned her head back, a giant migraine forming at a rapid pace.

Heading down from the dormitory, Ptolemy descended the staircase and saw Alayna was already in there. She looked annoyed. He couldn't say that he really blamed her. Something was off about Alayna recently though, and he was sure it wasn't just to do with her Father or having another disagreement with James. There was something else. He'd known her for a while now, so sometimes he just had to go with his gut feeling on things.

Sighing, he made his way across to her.

"What happened?" he asked, sitting next to her.

Alayna looked up at Ptolemy when she heard his voice and felt herself relax a bit, "Just stupid Potter and stupid darling and stupid fucking Chang. All just stupid." She said gritting her teeth a bit, "I'm tired of this place. I wish I could just leave like stupid Potter is planning too." She didn't really want to leave. She just wanted it to be like before she had dated Chang

"You don't mean that."

Or, he hoped that she didn't.

Ptolemy took hold of her hand.

"You are Alayna Nott. You're not running away because of some sour loser, a mudblood and a boy who prematurely ejaculates. Just think about that for a moment. Do you really want to flee?"

He sighed.

"I always told you to lean on me. I shall help you. I made Potter's life a misery for you, but it hasn't made you happy. I could try to make his life a misery again, if it pleases you. Just give me an occupation, and I swear I will carry it out."

Alayna frowned and looked at him. Of course she didn't mean it. She couldn't stand to be away from him. She looked at him as he spoke and felt her eyes start to tear up a bit. He was so sweet. And he always knew exactly what to say. Lord, she hoped to marry this man one day. "No I don't want to flee. And we tried to make his life miserable. Yet, somehow, I'm miserable. I don't think I'll really be happy until either he's gone or we graduate and get the hell out of here." She cupped his cheek and kissed him softly but passionately, "Right now, i just want you to be here as my boyfriend. Just... Be here."
