Al knew that he had been in a lot of deep shit right now. He had started shit with someone without having a fucking clue what was going on right now. He had been trying to lay low in the dungeons, and knew James was going to kill him.

He had his wand on him in case Al needed to use it right now. The male decided to get some food in the kitchens, and had been making himself a sandwich when the sound of a door opened, and Albus got his wand out pointing. He needed some kind of defense mechanism right now.

With the match getting closer and closer, James was trying to stress himself out as little as possible; most of his time was spent doing catch-up work for his classes so he could start his training with Professor Riddle as quickly as possible. He was in the mood for some fun with his munchies, so he went down to the kitchens expecting to catch Atticus there. Nope, it was his brother. That twerp.

"The fuck's the wand for? Fuckin' hell's wrong with ye?" James asked as he slid off his invisibility cloak. He was going to have to readjust to not wearing it everywhere soon enough.

Albus didn’t want to put the wand down in the slightest, and kept it pointing at him. “I am not putting it down.” he spoke with a stern voice, he knew James was going to be mad at me. “I need it for what I’m going to tell you.” he said since he knew James wouldn’t be happy in the slightest. He needed to defend myself, “I spoke to your fuck buddy who hurt you.” he said with a stern voice. He knew he was starting shit right now, but Albus didn’t know what do, but he felt divided right now.

What the fuck? First, his sister and Louis tried setting up what was unofficially an intervention. That was off-putting. Now his brother had his wand at him just for being in the same room? What the hell was wrong with his relatives?

James was puzzled. What the hell were his relatives assuming the entire time? "We were never fuckin', Al. Why'd ye think that?"

All he wanted to do was be hand-fed some treats and get laid!

"He never hurt me either."

The anger had dissipated enough that James could only feel disappointed in a few of his loved ones.

Albus felt like something was off with James since he heard from someone Professor Riddle and James were spending time together and he got his wand out, and he looked at James. “I heard you been talking to the devil himself.” said Albus who was worried about James. “Why would that person say you like Lien if you weren’t fucking each other. How would they know these secrets?” said Albus with a dark tone who was on his feet now,

“How the fuck would people know you liked him if he didn’t hurt you.” said Albus who was going to point things out. “None of it adds up, and I think you just aren’t who used to be. I hope you don’t use it as a way to make Gryffindor lose.” spoke Albus with a dark tone. He didn’t trust James right now and just kept his wand on him.

"Who the fuck is the devil?"

James, unsure of what was going on with his brother, relented and pulled out his wand and entered a defensive stance. Why was his own family doing the absolute worst job at supporting him? Well, it was mainly his siblings doing such a thing. Fred was alright in terms of actual conversation and normalcy. Louis was Louis.

His eye twitched hearing his own brother repeat some of the same BS Alayna and her cronies spread. "He and I never shagged. The fuck would I gain by lyin' 'bout that? Huh? Why don't ye tell me?"

"Alayna used educational guessin', ye plonker. He never 'urt me, yet here ye are tryin' to fuck up the one actual friendship in my life!"

The dance had the unintentional effect of making James more attuned to his emotions; he tried his best to stifle the tears not wanting to fight his brother at all.

Albus kept his wand pointed at James with a dark glare right now. “I know you were talking to Professor Riddle, and you been just hanging out with some bad people.” he said with a dark glare. He had to admit that he felt bad for what he did, “I thought I was defending you, so I went to the first probable person.” he said hoping he didn’t have to cast a spell at James.

What friendship was he talking about, “I don’t think I’d consider us friends since you like to pick on me, and I just feel like this year you aren’t you.” he said with a sigh, not wanting to show sympathy. “Are you studying dark magic? Since you got awfully close with those people.” he spoke hoping James told him something. “Why did you start playing Quidditch again?” he asked trying to get answers.

He knew about that?

"Professor Riddle was checkin' on me and givin' me advice 'cause of becomin' a dad. Doin' more than ye did...."

James knew he couldn't trust his brother, or most of his family, with a lot of the things he would confide to Lien. "Ye weren't defendin' a damn thing! I wanted this shit to blow over yet 'ere ye are 'causin' a fuckin' scene!"

This completely ruined his plan of returning to civilization during the match as people roaming around the dungeons were definitely going to hear and witness this.

"I pick on ye 'cause yer my brother. That's what older sibs do. Yer actin' like I left ye to the centaurs!" He couldn't take this. His family was proving that he always felt sort of alone. If they cared about him so much, they would've gotten concerned whenever he locked himself in his room during summer break.

"I ain't studyin' dark magic! Snoggin' that bitch once doesn't constitute a friendship. The fuck's wrong with ye?" Did it matter why he started playing quidditch again?

Albus felt like James didn’t care about their family in the slightest. All he did was of drugs and Albus had to do all the work getting the good grades, since both his siblings sucked at trying to actually not be problems in society. “Wow you actually plan on being a dad?” he said really not liking this in the slightest. “How would Evelyn feel about Lochlan having a saying in how her kid is raised. You do realize Evelyn will not let someone like Riddle give advice on children.” he said not caring what’s going on right now.

“Anyone who helps you cause a scene, and you expect us to sit here and let you fuck your life up, since without any of our guidance you clearly managed to mess things up James.” he said as he thought of some kind of spell to do. Albus felt like maybe this would get James a bit of a reality check right now. “You always act like your too cool to spend time with us, and I’m fucking tired of it. You had your chance to shine, and now I’m trying to shine you want back in the picture.” spoke Albus who had a lot of built up resentment towards him.

Albus was getting mad, “There is nothing wrong with me!.” he said with a lot of frustration. All Albus wanted to do was help him, and here James was pushing him away, “I just wish you knew how to be a better big brother, since you aren’t there for Lily and me when we need you.” he said trying to fight back tears. “We were raised better than this, James!” sighed Albus who wished James was better.

James was ready to burst into tears as Al made his monologue full of falsehoods and misunderstandings. He hated being a Potter. He didn't want to be a Potter. Don't look weak. Don't look weak.

"Would ye rather me not take accountability for my mistakes, Albus?" he questioned with the blind hopes of receiving a good faith answer. "I intend on raisin' my sprog and givin' it a good life. What is 'ere to hate 'bout that? Why do ye judge him 'cause of his family? Ye receive the same bullshit bein' in Slytherin!"

The hypocrisy was outrageous.

"I don't wanna fight..."

Albus lowered his wand and let out a sigh as he could tell it was bothering James. “I am sorry James! I just wish you actually were there for me and Lily.” he said with a huge sigh right now. He could tell that this was weakening James, and he didn’t want to hurt his brother.

“Yes I do, but you do realize Lochlan is just shady as all hell.” he said with a huge sigh since his daughters all seemed to align themselves with the dark arts. “I did you’re right, but I also wouldn’t hurt people like they would.” he said with a huge sigh. He didn’t believe in dark magic, and felt like it should be abolished.

Albus looked at James. “I get you have problems, but I wish you realize that we need you more than anything.” he said wanting James to realize this. “I don’t want to fight either, but can you actually think about us too, instead of always thinking about yourself.” he asked.

As with a lot of things, James instinct was to flee. He didn't know how to deal with any of this. A part of him yearned to look for Lien and talk to him. Lien would listen. Lien's presence would be soothing, but that would just make his brother even more suspicious about their supposed relationship. Why did nobody ever believe him when he told the truth? Why was he always being questioned so hard by his own family? Shouldn't a family's love be unconditional?

"What makes ye think I never think about ye or Lils..?"

He always struggled with putting others before himself, but that was because it was often draining and not reciprocal. Now that he cared a lot for his unborn child and Lien, it was a bad thing. What was this world?

"You just aren't there for us when we need you," he said with a sigh.

"None of ye ever check on me whenever I avoid all of ye durin' the summer. I'm done 'ere."

James slipped his invisibility cloak back on and left the kitchens. He wanted to be left alone for the moment.

Albus watched as James walked away and felt anger building up in his face.

“Just gonna walk out on us like that?”

He couldn’t believe it. They were supposed to be brothers.

"Yer actin' as if I'm goin' to buy milk!"

Albus was being ridiculous, and he didn't like it.

"I'm not stayin' where I don't feel welcome, and ye grabbin' yer wand and interrogatin' me isn't welcomin'."
