- Is the middle of three siblings and the only son. His Father is Cho Chang's older brother. Their family is pretty broke.
- Lien is very serious about his studies, and gets annoyed by student frivolity and misbehaviour. He can be very judgemental and jealous of people who are carefree and popular, to the point where he starts resenting them and developing long-term grudges.
- He is a prefect at the school but wishes he wasn't. Despite being annoyed by people fooling around, he doesn't like to dish out punishments or tell people what to do.
