Outer Grounds

A scenic viewpoint where students can go and see the beautiful mountain valley beyond. This was James Steward's favourite place at Mount Greylock, before they had built Ilvermorny. There are several picnic benches where students can eat and socialise, and in the summer months the school has campouts where bonfires are set and all the camp side goodies are shared around.

Although the outer part of the forest is fairly non-threatening to students, it is advised that they do not wander beyond a certain point. The heavily enchanted part of the forest is particularly dangerous, so there is an invisible boundary to prevent anyone from going in there, including adults.

A freshwater spring where hundreds of fairies gather. It is a beautiful place where students like to visit. There has been a rumour about Fairy Springs which dates back many decades: legend says there is a hidden cave somewhere around there, but nobody has been able to find it.

A large, wooden elevator that takes students down from the mountain peak to the wizarding settlement below on weekends, if they decide to visit there and have written permission from their parents.
